Denver Area Colorado Retirement Community Resident Testimonials
Bill Kalous
Having been widowed for ten years and living alone, I felt that I was becoming more and more isolated. For example, during the winter storm periods, I stayed home and only emerged when the weather cleared up.
Here at Keystone Place at Legacy Ridge I’m not stuck in my apartment but can leave at any time to work out in the exercise facility, go to stretch class, use the resident library, play games, put puzzles together in the activity room, pick up my mail, and go to the dining room. My newspaper is delivered to my apartment (no digging it out of the snow), my trash and recycling items are picked up outside my door, and best of all my unit is cleaned every other week (I especially appreciate the kitchen and bath being cleaned by someone else!) And – all of the above occur without my leaving the building!
Oh! I failed to mention that at the same time I have numerous opportunities to interact with other residents.
The amenities at Keystone Place at Legacy Ridge are outstanding with many seasonal activities on-site and also throughout the Denver metropolitan area.
Finally, when I decided to sell my condo and move to Keystone Place, I was still capable of making the decision on my own. My sons have expressed their appreciation for my doing so as it spares them the chore of relocating me at some future date.

“I laughed more in the first two weeks I was here than in the past two years, Love the Happy Hour – Keystone knows how to party! The smartest decision to move here that I have made for years!”

“It’s a cold snowy afternoon and if I were still in my house, I would probably be sitting alone doing nothing. But since moving to Keystone, doing nothing is not an option. We have weekly exercises which keeps us limber. Our Activities Director does a fabulous job planning outings, trips to the doctor, or shopping. Each month there is a birthday party for those celebrating birthdays. There is a huge cake with the names of all the birthday people, pictures are taken and we all end up singing happy Birthday. It’s a very special event. We were fortunate to have a visit from an astronaut to speak about his space flight experiences. He showed slides of his last mission which made the presentation even more interesting. Our meals are healthy and we have a choice of eating in the restaurant for lunch or dinner. It is a good time to get caught up on what everyone has done that day. When I was still in my house, my family worried about my being alone – that’s not a worry anymore. I feel truly blessed to have met so many wonderful people. Keystone was a good move for me and I’m very happy to be here.
