This month we will be going on outings to Tama, Barnes & Noble, a movie outing to see "The Great Debaters" starring Denzel Washington, a tour of the Czech Museum and coffee trips to Java Creek café. There will also be music by David Poggenklass, Blair Thorn, and the country steppers and lots of shopping and lunch outings. There will also be a slide show of Bob Berntsen’s trip to Italy, Holland and Africa on the December 15.

Also, lots of shopping and lunch outings as well as snowflake crafts!
The Gardens at Keystone Woods
Special activities for the month of January include a "French" theme dinner served in a cafe-like setting with music by Edith Piaf and Parisian accordions, a dinner trip on January 22 to the famous Eastside Grill in Northampton, MA, lunch out at LIDO Italian restaurant on January 9 followed by dessert and coffee at "La Fiorentina" bakery, and lunch out on January 16 at the famous colonial Salem Cross Inn.
Other activities include relaxation to music with two music therapists, improvised music on Irish harp, flute, guitar, recorders, crystal and Tibetan bowls offered in a darkened and quiet room with guided imagery and deep relaxation techniques. A two day review AARP Driver Safety Course with a certified teacher will be offered on January 29 and 30 to help hone driving skills for older adults. Participants receive a certificate of participation upon completion. The course will consist of eight hours of classroom time. On January 23 the "Weekenders" fashion show will feature classy clothes for seniors, with special emphasis on how to mix and match with attractive color options.

After a busy and hectic December we will be relaxing with some of our favorite Entertainers throughout the month including: Jim on banjo, Doc on guitar, Sandy on piano, Richard on Viola and Donalyn with a trivia, name that tune
sing-a-long!
We would like to extend a warm welcome to new Entertainer, Jimmy Mazz, who is known throughout the area for his talented singing voice in his show extravaganza! Also, Residents choice brings us Karaoke with Pat and ice cream sodas.
Ongoing Community Service projects include: cards for the Troops and hand sewn baby quilts for the Springfield Infant Toddler program.
Keystone Commons
Our beautiful building is starting to look like home for the many seniors that are making Keystone Commons their new address! We have had so much interest at Keystone Commons that we now have a wait list. Our 44 Independent Living apartments are all rented. We have many folks coming from Ludlow and surrounding towns, IE. Wilbraham, Palmer, Ware, Munson, East Longmeadow, Chicopee and Springfield to name a few, and the winner for coming the most miles will be a new resident coming from Nevada, and Florida as runner up with a few people from there.
We had a lovely pre-holiday get together in December in our information center catered by Ludlow’s Villa Rose for all the fine people that work in local medical facilities to see our model apartments and share a cup of cheer with us. Everyone enjoyed the evening and our colleagues were very impressed with Keystone Commons.
We are in the throes of hiring staff in anticipation of our opening this winter. We are confident that we will be staffed by caring, compassionate and very qualified people who will strive daily to keep Keystone Commons a top-notch community!
