Grayson House at Keystone Woods
Happy 2008 From Grayson House Assisted Living!
We welcome in the New Year, with a special free Holiday Bingo on New Years Day! After a busy and hectic December we will be relaxing with some of our favorite Entertainers throughout the month including: Jim on banjo, Doc on guitar, Sandy on piano, Richard on Viola and Donalyn with a trivia, name that tune
sing-a-long!
We would like to extend a warm welcome to new Entertainer, Jimmy Mazz, who is known throughout the area for his talented singing voice in his show extravaganza! Also, Residents choice brings us Karaoke with Pat and ice cream sodas.
Ongoing Community Service projects include: cards for the Troops and hand sewn baby quilts for the Springfield Infant Toddler program.
Keystone Commons
As our community becomes more of a reality, Keystone Commons
has just received their initial certification approval from
the Executive Office of Elder Affairs. At this point we need
to get our occupancy permit and related certificates, IE food,
safety and elevator before residents can move in. We are very
excited to have the certification approved for our Assisted
Living wing, named Stonybrook Assisted Living Residence, which
will house 34 assisted living apartments and an additional
twelve suites providing a safe secure neighborhood for persons
with memory disorders. Beth Edelberg-Cardillo, Executive Director
of Keystone Commons said “this is such a great relief to have
our certification approved, it’s the states Seal of Approval
for us, which means that according to the state regulations
we must abide by, we have proven ourselves and passed muster”.
Oversight by the state has become more stringent over the
years due to the increase of assisted living facilities, so
it’s nice to know that facilities such as Keystone Commons
are doing it right, which equates to less worry for families,
and a sense of comfort for everyone. The Independent portion
of the building, “Hubbard Place” which houses 44 apartments
is all rented and our residents-to-be are busy packing and
setting up move-in dates for early Spring.
