Keystone Cedars

May 2 - Music by Isaac Newton School Kids.

May 3 - Piano & sing a long music by David Poggenklass.

May 5 - Cinco De Mayo Party.

May 7 – An outing to Jefferson High School for their play "Music Man."

May 8 - A movie theatre outing to see "Maid Of Honor."

May 12 - Sing a long music with Picks and Hammers.

May 16
– Music by Blair Thorn. An outing to Houby Days in Czech Village.

May 17 - Mother's day tea party at 2:00PM. Residents can expect good music, food, fun games and prizes!

May 19 - Line dancing with the Country Steppers.

May 21 – An outing to Riverside Casino.

May 28 - Tour of Usher's Ferry.

May 29 - Accordion music with Leonard and Darlene.

Throughout the month, there will be lots of shopping, lunch and bus ride outings.

Keystone Place at Blairs Ferry

May 2 – An outing to the Tulip Festival in Pella Iowa.

May 3 – Music by Piano & sing-a-long music by David Poggenklass.

May 7 - Jefferson High School for their play "Music Man."

May 8 - A movie theatre outing to see "Maid Of Honor."

May 15 - Keyboard music with Judy Mehlert. Music by Son Light Gospel Band. Accordion music with Leonard and Darlene. A cook-out lunch in the courtyard.

May 16 – An Outing to Houby Days in Czech Village.

May 17 - A mother's day tea party at 4:00PM. Residents can expect good music, food, fun games and prizes!

May 18 - Trip to Old Creamery Theatre & Dinner.

May 21 – Trip to Riverside Casino.

May 22 – Sing-a-long music with Picks and Hammers.

May 28 - Tour of Usher's Ferry.

May 29 - Going to Ellis Park to Watch the Cedar Rapids Water Ski Team.

Throughout the month, there will be music lots of shopping, lunch and bus ride outings.

The Gardens at Keystone Woods

Throughout the month, the Gardens is offering the following activities: Yoga Fit & Yoga Relax, two levels of Yoga weekly; weight training once a week with professional teacher from YMCA; Chair Exercise with Reenie one a week; walking club once a week; nature walks; "Jump into Spring" Fitness kick-off and talk about "going Green"; relaxation to Music - with two music therapists; footcare once a month; hearing evaluations once a month; optical services once a month; SHINE once a month; Jewelry making with Sandy Merrill once a month; Tole Painting with Vi Vandermyn two Saturdays a month; Cooking with Marge once a month (usually a chocolate event!); patio gardening twice a month; outdoor gardening twice a month; History club meeting exploring American Revolution and early American political/economic development once a week; Garden Belles Women's Club meeting once a month; The Men's Club meeting once a month; Dominoes, cards, Trivial Pursuit, & BINGO nightly; Movies featured nightly with video specials such as "Touring Hawaii," comedies and travelogues on weekends; coffee hours every Saturday morning; and grocery shopping to two stores provided every Monday morning.

Scheduled Day Activities

May 2 - Paul Recker, vocalist and country music artist at 6:30PM.

May 7 -"Life at School in Kabul Afghanistan," slides and lecture by Elizabeth Bennett, former teacher of Afghan children at 7PM.

May 9 - Women's Club is having a candy sale. Proceed to go to the Springfield 'Open Pantry" which serves poor and homeless of the city.

May 13 - "What is Reiki", lecture and hands on demonstration given by Reiki practitioner at 6:45PM.

May 14 - History Club will be taking an historic tour of Boston with lunch at the "Union Oyster House."

May 16 - Men's Club will host a guest speaker about WWII on 5/16, and have homemade sandwiches for lunch with guest.

May 21 – A trip to Paxton State park for azaleas and Brookfields for apple blossoms; and lunch out at historic Salem Cross Inn.

May 23 - Men's Club to New England Air Museum & lunch out. Armed Forces Day Happy Hour with Singer Keir White at 7PM.
May 26 - Memorial Day Picnic with entertainment by Dave Colucci.

May 28 – A trip to "Garden in the Woods" wildflower preserve & picnic in Framingham, MA. (All day trip.)

Religious Activities

Mass, once-a-month; Ecumenical service with communion given by Rev. Charles Summers, a resident who is NOT retired, once a month; Protestant discussion and sharing time with Pastor Greg Dyson once a month, transportation weekly to Mass, Protestant service, or Synagogue; Rosary, once-a-week.
