A Special Event at Keystone Place
Keystone Place at Blairs Ferry will host a 6-week workshop "Successful Living with Chronic Conditions" beginning Thursday, October 11 and ending on November 15, 2007. These sessions are 2 1⁄2 hours each, every Thursday morning from 9-11:30 a.m. This course is for people living with Arthritis, Heart Disease, Asthma, Lung Disease, Emphysema, Stroke, Parkinson’s, Diabetes, Osteoporosis and other diseases. It can also be beneficial if you are a friend, caregiver or relative of someone suffering with chronic pain. You will learn valuable problem solving skills. The public is encouraged to participate. Keystone Place and Keystone Cedars
This month there will be lots of lunch outings, bus rides and music! Residents will travel to the Tanger Outlet Center in Williamsburg, visit an Amish home in Kalona to enjoy a homemade Amish meal, and take a trip to Lena’s Pumpkin Patch and Bloomsberry Farms for hayrides, picking pumpkins and more!
On the October 25 we will have a family Halloween night for the evening meal. Guests are asked to come in costume! This year's trick or treat night will be on the October 30 from 6:00-8:00 at both Keystone Place and Keystone Cedars. There will also be a special Halloween cocktail party on Halloween!
The Gardens at Keystone Woods
Special trips for the month of October include a leaf peeping and picnic on October 3 at Brookfield Orchards to taste all kinds of apple products, visit antique and flea markets, and picnic with a beautiful view. On October 17 there will be more leaf peeping around the farms and hills of South Hadley including a stop at the famous Atkin's farm store. The Men's Club will travel to "Basketball Hall of Fame” and lunch at the "Red Rose" Italian restaurant on October 12.
RELAX to music with Music Therapist John Thorpe on October 18. Learn how to relax with sound effects and layers of sound including vibrations from bells, crystal bowls and bowls from Tibet, Irish harp, flutes and more.
We will celebrate United Nations Day, October 24, with presentations by students from Mary Lynch Elementary School. Speeches and presentations by Keystone seniors and staff will be followed by an intergenerational lunch.
Grayson House at Keystone Woods
Happy Fall from Grayson House Assisted Living!
There are three fall foliage trips scheduled on October 10, October 12 and October 17 with cider donuts and cider served at a mystery destination .
October Fest will be celebrated October 15 at 12 p.m. with an authentic German meal served. Mary Morse will perform on the German concertinas at 2:00 p.m.
Family Trick or Treat night will be October 27 from 6:30-8:00 p.m. Everyone is welcome! Come find the designated resident rooms with orange balloons and fill your provided treat bags! Refreshments and witches brew will be served!
On-going community service projects include "Cards For the Troops" and hand-made quilts for the "Welcome Baby Baskets".
