Keystone Meadows

November 2 - Medicare Part D information meeting to review the upcoming changes will take place in our Activity Lounge at 6:00.

November 7 - It's time to Vote. The bus will leave at 9:00 to go vote.

November 8 - At 2:00 Dorothy Baldwin will be entertaining us with her unique style of piano music. We will also be remembering our Veteran's at this time.

November 10 - You will be glad to hear the sweet gospel music of Lyle & Tina Moffett. The show begins at 6:00. Come early to get a good seat.

November 16 - Medicare Part information meeting. If you can't make on 11/2 come to this meeting to learn about any changes in insurance coverage for your medications.

November 23 - Happy Thanksgiving!

Keystone Gardens

November 3 - It's time to get warmed up with breakfast at the Cracker Barrel. We will be departing at 9:00.

November 7 - It's time to Vote. The van will be going to the polls at 9:00.

November 10 - Beginning at 2:00 we will be hosting a special Veterans Day Celebration in the lobby. The Goldenaires will be entertaining! This will be a very special time to remember our American heros.

November 16 - We are going to do it...It's time to go to lunch at the Wagon. Great food and great company! Sign up in the Activity Lounge.

November 23 - Happy Thanksgiving!

Keystone Place at Blairs Ferry

Highlights of activites include the Washington High School play "Grease" November 8 at 12:15, personal training session with Home Choice on Mondays at 10:00, basic computer classes on the November 7 and 28 at 9:30, Festival of Trees at Us Cellular Center on the November 17, pool exercise class every Tuesday morning at 7:00 a.m. and every Thursday at 4:30 p.m., a day trip to Galena IL on November 22, a casino trip to Riverside Casino November 29, crafts - lunch outings - music and more!

Keystone Cedars

Gary Connors a UNI teacher will present 5 sessions focusing on the lives of Palestinians. This study will take us through the social, political and historical life of these first century people. The sessions will be at 2:00 on November 2, 9, 16, and 30 and December 7.

We will be having several lunch outings on November 6, 7, 10 at 11:30 to Keystone Place so that Cedars' residents can try out the food at the new restaurant.

And residents interested in getting out to vote for their favorite candidate will be able to go on November 7. A bus ride will be provided to the polls!

Residents will also be attending a free showing of the play "Grease" at the Washington High School. The bus leaves at 12:15 on November 8.

We will be having a special veteran's service at 2:00 on November 11. The color guard will be here to perform for us and will will honor and recognize all of our residents who served our country. The service will be followed by a social with drinks and food!

Some of our outings this month are Coralville Mall in Iowa city - Festival of Trees at the US Cellular Center - Riverside Casino - Lunch at the Butterfly Café - Java Greek Café - Target - Kohls- Dollar General - and much more!

We will also have music by Dixie Notes Plus - Blair and Al - Community singers - Judy Mehlert - Ron Ulenhoppe - Young at Harp - Red Hat Singers - and Gary Bunce.

The Gardens at Keystone Woods

Entertainment: On November 5 John Savoy presents an entertainment special for veterans featuring patriotic songs and popular songs of the forties. Keir White sings the evening of November 10. Roger Hart Special presents slides of New England set to music on November 20. Paul Recker, country singer, performs on November 27. Cole Porter Songs and Lyrics, and November 28 music appreciation with Reenie Harwell. Sandy Robinson songstress/pianist entertains on November 29.

Religion: Bible Study and Ecumenical Service, November 21, 10 a.m., MASS with Father Charles, 1:30 p.m. Bible Study and Reflection with Reverend Gregg Dyson, TBA. Transport to Protestant/Catholic churches every Sunday a.m. ROSARY every Wednesday a.m.

Health: Health Fair, "Everything you Want to know about Cardiac Health" with the nursing students from UMASS and their Professor, November 2. Spectrum HomeHealthCare: Joints and Recovery from Joint Surgery. Free Hearing Tests with AVADA, November 17. On Sight Optical vision services November 30. Footcare, November 22, all morning.

Fitness: Yoga Fit, every Monday. TAI CHI, every Tuesday. Walking Club every Tuesday a.m., Exercise and Stretch with Reenie, weekly, and Weight Training every Friday, 1-2:30 p.m. Flu Shots Clinic, November 8, 10-4 p.m.

Trips: Grocery shopping to two stores every Monday morning. Shop trip to the Mall and Marshall's on November 1. Longmeadow shops and lunch out on November 15.

Intergenerational: Disney movie with young Keystoners and coloring project, November 18.

Arts/Crafts: Knit & Sew, every Thursday, a.m., "Make and Take Cards", November 4 and 28. Make XMAS decoration on November 18. Jewelry Making November 14. Group Collage, November 26.

Academic: "The History of the Environment in the U.S.", Parts III and IV with Professor Dietrich Schlobohm. Poetry/discussion Mondays with Professor Montgomery and Julie Schlobohm. "100 Events that Shaped America", History with Reenie. November 29, "Struggle for the Holy Land" with teacher Jack Phillips. November 22, "Other Pilgrims" with Reenie

Specials: Men's club outing to Smith & Wesson, lunch at Lido restaurant, November 19. The Garden Belles Women's Club coffee hour celebration on November 9. Make French Pastries with Marge Kehoe on November 29. Silver Screen Free movie out, "The Picnic" with William Holden.

Lunch out at the symphony, November 3. Majestic theatre, play out: "the Nerd", November 28. Special movie feature on November 30, "Miracle on 34th Street".

Grayson House at Keystone Woods

November 3 - The Sunshine Club meets to make Get Well Cards for Residents who are ill or out of the Facility, re: Hospital, Rehab, etc. 10:00 a.m. Activity Room. Albert Entertains on the piano, for Meet & Greet, Wine & Cheese Party 2-4 p.m.

November 8 - Flu Shot Clinic 10-4 in the T.V. Room. Lunch trip out to the Ginger Blossom Restaurant, Chinese/Japanese Food 11:00 a.m.

November 10 - Paul Recker, country guitar player, entertains for Meet & Greet, Wine & Cheese Party 2-4 p.m.

November 11 - Special Veteran's Day Program, Doc Entertains on the guitar 2:00 p.m.

November 15 - Lunch trip out to the Two Eagles Restaurant 11:00 a.m.

November 16 - Roger Hart presents his amazing slide show "Sentimental Journey" 2:00 p.m. in the T.V. Room

November 17 - Jim Harris entertains on the Banjo, for Meet & Greet, Wine & Cheese Party, 2-4 p.m.

November 24 - Ken on the piano, back by popular demand. Meet & Greet, Wine & Cheese Party, 2-4 p.m.

November 25 - Tony Rarus starts to get us in the Holiday Spirit with his guitar entertainment, 1:30 p.m. in the T.V. Room

November 28 - Switch a Roo with the Activity Directors! Reenie comes to us from the Gardens Independant Building, to play the piano!

November 29 - The Golden Blue Ribbon Singers, kick off the Holiday Season with their Holiday sing-a-long and Broadway Tunes!

Shopping trips, every Monday at 2:00 p.m. to Walmart and looking ahead...special trips to the beautiful Forest Park to see "Bright Nights", a dazzling array of lights, music and color!
